To Avoid Damages or Downtime, We Recommend the Use of Our Proven Components for Cryogenic Systems

Multi Component Detector MCD

The Multi Component Detector MCD is used to monitor the purity of the helium in a cryogenic system. Benefits include a high helium quality, reliable operation of the system and optimal, cost-saving use of purifiers. The MCD offers a number of options for detection and measurement of contaminants in helium. The basic version allows moisture and nitrogen to be measured.

The measurement of other chemical elements or compounds can be offered on demand.

With the additional stage of a pyrolyzer unit it is also possible to detect oil aerosols. The MCD performs precise measurements of impurities in helium in the vpm range. It ensures reliable and consistent performance and enables continuous measurement of contamination in helium. Its simple installation makes it a practical solution for industrial or scientific environments where pure helium is critical for uninterrupted operations. Whether for research experiments or industrial processes, the MCD is a reliable and accurate tool for measuring helium impurities.

Compressor Oil HCF20

Advanced lubrication for helium compressors – now standard with HCF20

Cryogenic plants from Linde Kryotechnik rely on highly sophisticated, fast-rotating equipment such as compressors and expansion turbines. These high-performance machines are extremely sensitive to even trace contaminants from ambient air or compressor oil. Standard compressor oils, often designed for air compressors, can oxidize, crack, or absorb moisture, compromising both the functionality and safety of helium compressors and downstream processes. HCF20 has evolved from decades of experience with HCF12 to meet the demanding requirements of modern helium compressors and every component of a Linde cryogenic plant. It ensures reliable lubrication, sealing, and cooling across the entire temperature range and service interval—without thermal decomposition or moisture absorption.

Key benefits of HCF20:

  • Compatible with HCF12 – HCF20 can be added to existing HCF12 oil
  • Extended compressor lifetime
  • Tailored for Linde Oil Removal Systems (ORS)
  • No pre-treatment required—HCF20 does not absorb moisture
  • Fully compatible with HCF12
  • Excellent water separation and low foaming tendency
  • Maintains complete lubricity even at low temperatures
  • Shorter pump and purge times, reduced purge gas consumption
  • More skin-friendly than other helium-compatible oils
  • Enhanced operational safety, including for downstream processes
  • Reduced maintenance effort and replacement costs
  • Increased plant availability

End-to-End Compatibility:

All new Linde Kryotechnik cryogenic plants are equipped with HCF20 upon delivery. HCF20 is compatible with Linde’s Oil Removal Systems and most other helium compressors. Please contact Linde Kryotechnik to check compatibility for upgrades.
